Repairing Your Vehicles like Our Children Are Riding in Them
One Customer at a Time, Just Like Family.
Married for over 20 years, Bellingham natives Joe and Shannon Cardinale opened Joe’s Automotive Repair in January 2005. Both attended local high schools, Joe graduating from Sehome and Shannon from Bellingham High School. Joe attended Bellingham Technical College, earning his degree in Automotive Repair and has since become an ASA Master Technician. As their children have gotten older, Shannon has become more involved in the day-to-day operation of the business. Together, the Cardinales have 45 years of experience in the auto repair field.
Outside of the auto industry, Joe is a well-known official for high school and middle school football and has added both Semi-Pro Team Official as well as the great accomplishment of NCAA College Official to his resume. To say he is passionate about football is an understatement. He is a 20+ year Seahawks season ticket holder.
Joe and Shannon have three daughters: Ali, Izzy, and Josie. Ali graduated from SQHS in 2015 and is a teacher through Skagit-Island's Head Start. Ali is married to her husband Will. Izzy graduated from SQHS in 2017 and is working at the shop to follow in her parents foot steps. Izzy also officiates high school football along side her dad. She made history by becoming the first female official to officiate a Varsity level football game; in Whatcom, Skagit, and the Island counties. Josie attends SQHS and is a varsity cheerleader. She spends her time with friends, studying and cheerleading.
Now that you’ve gotten to know a little bit about us, we look forward to meeting you, too! Give Joe’s Automotive Repair a call or request an appointment today.

Izzy Cardinale
I am Joe and Shannon’s middle daughter. I came to work at the shop in March of 2020, with the long term goal of being able to take over the shop when my mom and dad are ready to take a step back. I look forward to carrying on the relationships that they have built with our customers.
I graduated from Squalicum High School in 2017. In my free time, I officiate high school football. I am the first female official to officiate a varsity level football game in Whatcom, Skagit and the Islands.
I have a passion and love for dogs, and my dog Penelope is at the shop with me most days. You've probably seen her in the shop or on our Facebook page. I was a professional dog groomer before I made the decision to join the family business.
