Repairing Your Vehicles like Our Children Are Riding in Them
One Customer at a Time, Just Like Family.
Married for over 20 years, Bellingham natives Joe and Shannon Cardinale opened Joe’s Automotive Repair in January 2005. Both attended local high schools, Joe graduating from Sehome and Shannon from Bellingham High School. Joe attended Bellingham Technical College, earning his degree in Automotive Repair and has since become an ASA Master Technician. As their children have gotten older, Shannon has become more involved in the day-to-day operation of the business. Together, the Cardinales have 45 years of experience in the auto repair field.
Outside of the auto industry, Joe is a well-known official for high school and middle school football and has added both Semi-Pro Team Official as well as the great accomplishment of NCAA College Official to his resume. To say he is passionate about football is an understatement. He is a 20+ year Seahawks season ticket holder.
Joe and Shannon have three daughters: Ali, Izzy, and Josie. Ali graduated from SQHS in 2015 and is enrolled in UW Online to obtain her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Family Studies. Ali also works at a childcare center in Ferndale and is engaged to Will, who works for Janicki Industries. Izzy graduated from SQHS in 2017 and is actively pursuing her career as a dog groomer. Also, following in her Dad's footsteps, Izzy officiates football. Izzy was the first female varsity official in Whatcom, Skagit, and Island Counties. Youngest Josie attends SQHS and is a varsity cheerleader. She spends her time with friends, studying and cheerleading.

Working on vehicles since I was 13 years old building my first car from the ground up with my neighbor and mentor. After high school I enrolled in the T-TEN program in Southern California where I was able to progress my automotive knowledge further. ASE Certified. I've been working in the automotive industry professionally for 6 years and all have been independent shops.
I'm versed in a wide variety of auto manufacturers specializing in under-car, electrical, and heavy line work.
