I had recently moved to Bellingham and had not yet found a good mechanic to care for my vehicle. After hearing from several locals and reading through reviews, I decided to give Joe's a shot. I was so glad I did! This is without a doubt the finest repair shop I have ever been to in terms of quality of work and service. The gentleman that assisted me and worked on my vehicle was completely honest with me on their pricing, what they would be doing and how long it would take. No bs and simple old fashioned service. You would be hard pressed to find those qualities in any shop. They also made sure to check out the rest of my car and found a couple things that two other mechanics had missed, then went on to explain to me in detail why these things were important. I would not only recommend Joe's but I would say you'd have to be crazy to visit any other business in the city for your automotive needs.

Really impressive work. After reading the reviews, I gave them a call. I asked their shop rate which I found was about the same from the three other places I had called in town. I described the problem (cracked connector to the negative battery terminal). I got a quote which seemed reasonable so made an appointment for the next day. They got my car in when they said they could, called me when it was ready (which was right when they said it would be) and to my amazement replaced both the connectors on the battery wires for a few bucks less than they quoted on the phone initially. I like the fact that they followed through on their word, were friendly and did really good work. I'm going to be coming back to them for brakes in the future.

I've been a client of Joe's before. I found out about this company because they hired a guythat went door to door selling coupons. They turned out to not be the best deal, but we got our money's worth. I also later took my car in for repairs and they did a good job. The bill was pretty expensive, $700+ to replace the belts and the front axle (I guess the rubber boots had worn out and sand got in the joints and was making it squeak really bad when I moved the wheel) and I was satisfied. Diagnostics work is a bit expensive. I'm not sure how many hours one should charge for hooking up a computer to the car and then walking away and working on another car at the same time, but it's the business. Another update. I have taken another vehicle into the shop and had some work on it. It was a fair price and they fixed what I asked them to fix. The problem came back, but I feel it was because the true cause wasn't found. I trust him enough to bring it back and try again. Overall, Joe is a great guy and I trust him. Cars, however, are less predictable.
